Thumbs up Operation Hadin Kai by Tony Ademiluyi

HADIN KAI have sustained offensive operations against terrorist elements across the North-East, recording major successes in a series of operations conducted between June 16 and 19, 2026.

In a statement issued by the Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI, Captain Mohammed Goni, troops of the 135 Special Forces Battalion Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team, working alongside the Quick Reaction Force (QRF), responded to intelligence from residents on June 16 regarding improvised explosive devices (IEDs) planted along the Biu–Buratai Road.

Acting swiftly on the information, the troops carried out a fighting patrol to the area and discovered five IED cylinders emplaced by terrorists along the route.

The devices were professionally detonated without any casualties, and the troops returned safely to base after the operation.

On June 17, troops of the 153 Task Force Battalion engaged terrorists along the Miyanti–Ngoshe axis while returning from a picketing duty in Kirawa.

The troops encountered an unconfirmed number of insurgents riding on about 60 motorcycles.
Although the terrorists initiated the attack, the troops responded with sustained and superior firepower, forcing the insurgents to retreat towards Miyanti. While the number of terrorist casualties could not be immediately confirmed, troops recovered 817 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, three motorcycles, two solar panels, 102 sachets of salt, a motorcycle tyre, two motorcycle tubes, and several motorcycle spare parts.

In another operation on June 19, troops of the 27 Task Force Brigade Garrison recorded a breakthrough following credible intelligence on terrorist logistics activities. During a routine stop-and-search operation at the brigade checkpoint, troops intercepted and arrested two suspected Boko Haram Terrorists/Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) logistics suppliers.

The suspects, identified as Mohammed Bukar, also known as “Dege,” aged 35, and his apprentice, Iliyasu Abdullahi, aged 26, were apprehended while travelling in a cyan Volkswagen vehicle with registration number FGF-357-AG. They were reportedly transporting Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and relief materials intended for Boko Haram and ISWAP members.

We commend the army for this brave act of counter-terrorism despite the odds stacked against them in the noble battle against the insurgency.

Tragically, the daily feeding ration of the soldiers on the war front is a mere 3000 naira per day, which is insufficient for their huge feeding needs.

The poor conditions of the soldiers was revealed by social media activist, Justice Crack, which led to his detention by the DSS. Our soldiers deserve much better.

Once again, a big thumbs up to Operation Hadin Kai!
